Lena and Krystal Pernell hail from Detroit, Michigan, and their shared passion for entrepreneurship blossomed from an early age. Their entrepreneurial journey commenced in the 6th grade when they founded P.L.U.T.O. (People Like Us Take Over), diving headfirst into the world of custom t-shirt production using iron-on decals to create unique garments for local school groups.
After graduating from Detroit's Renaissance High School, the Pernell twins initially pursued separate paths for college. Krystal enrolled at Bowling Green State University, while Lena opted for Florida A&M University. However, fate eventually led Lena to transfer and join Krystal at Bowling Green State University, reuniting them for their academic pursuits.
In their professional lives, the two sisters embody the duality of a coin. Krystal's career has flourished in the fields of finance, accounting, and organizational leadership. In contrast, Lena boasts a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector and over five years of expertise in process improvement, procurement, and project management within the finance department of Michigan's largest school district.
These distinct backgrounds and experiences form the foundation that enables them to provide comprehensive support to organizations throughout their business journeys.
